Selling to resellers and other businesses? ExemptSafe keeps your tax-exempt customers straight. Record each customer's resale certificate — number, issuing state, expiry date — and the app applies Shopify's native tax-exempt flag at checkout through Shopify Functions. No theme changes, ever.

The expiry radar warns you at 90, 60, and 30 days before a certificate lapses, so a forgotten renewal never becomes your liability. Every exemption decision is written to an append-only audit log — who was exempted, when, and why — exportable to CSV for your accountant.

Is this tax advice?

No. ExemptSafe is record-keeping and automation: it tracks the certificates you enter and applies the checkout flags you approve. Whether a customer is legally exempt is between you and your tax professional.

What happens if I uninstall?

Our data is removed immediately, and — importantly — nothing about what your customers are charged changes. Uninstalling never alters checkout behavior.

Will this slow down my checkout?

No. Exemptions run through Shopify Functions, which execute inside Shopify's own checkout — no extra scripts, no theme changes, nothing for shoppers to wait on.
