Rules check top-down — product, collection, tag, type, vendor, stock status, zone — and the first matching rule decides the date. A live tester shows exactly what shoppers will see before you publish anything. Digital products and gift cards are excluded automatically, so you never promise a delivery date on something that doesn't ship.

The badge is a theme app extension block you place in the theme editor — no code to touch — and Shopify removes it automatically if you ever uninstall.

Do I need to edit my theme code?
